Helter I By R. Cary

Helter I

By R. Cary

Tell me of your sins Helter, the scars of your heart

Tilting his head, his eyes show enough, she asks no more to be said

She is where he buries his pain, upon the breast of her care

Caressing him, her hands sooth upon his face; gentle, secure

She knows he cannot live without her, this is her duty

Her passion in protecting, giving comfort, forgiving him;

This is her art, relieving him of his sins, quietly

She raises herself up, ‘Helter, it is time to go’

She will miss him, she always does, closing the door

She faces her window, wishing for that day to come

End

Helter I
